Update on ATM Pin Number Reversal.. (Trust Is Unknown)
According to this website, reversing your ATM Pin Number when in danger WILL NOT inform the police that you are in danger.
For now, it is not true and who knows, maybe in the future… It can be done…

we need to be so careful about what we pass around on the net.
what if you pin were 2222 or 1221. So ladies continue to carry your pepper spray and go to the ATM in day light and with a friend.

Kara: It was plausible for it to work.. But at least for now, we all know it does not work…
Dorothy Bryan: I agree.. But do you know some countries, Pepper Spray is illegal? I did get a email sometime back about how ATM thieves work especially in Malaysia.. One of these days, I will blog about it and hopefully people are more alert..
Cars: There might be a possible that something like that can work.. Maybe not Pin Number reversal.. but something along the line..
In General, We all should be careful.. And be alert… I guess if in times where you are really in trouble, I guess it is best to give your money to them.. rather than risking your life or putting your life in harms way…

Take a look here, a little bit of info regarding palindromic numbers, I must say my number is the same backwards as it is forwards, I certianly did not see the police turn up at the ATM this morning!!!

Kara, Thanks for the website.. Its really informative.. As for your palindrome pin numbers, even if the Pin Reversal number works, I doubt the police able to recognise if you just keying your own pin number or asking for help

It is not possible….
I will tell another scenario : If some one had last the wallet, which is taken by thief. Say for Instance the PIN number of the Card that he had taken is 1234, if he tries it with reversing the same…. 4321..
Think of the situation, what would happen. Even if the card holder reports the bank about card theft, but in the mean time the reverse pin action happens, whom would be helped out from the Situation (So here the thief becomes the card holder now and gets the benefit….. hhahahaha)

renaikan , it might sound ridiculas, at least now, we know it is just an urban legand.. And IF AND ONLY IF the system does work, I don’t see it is ridiculas when you are in trouble
Ituloy Angsulong, Your welcome too
MGK, It sounds logic as well what you said. It also crossed my mind the ATMs only allow you to key in the pin number 3 times max and if its still wrong, the card will not be returned. Assuming that you in danger and the system works, you keep pressing the reversal pin number to contact the authorities but before you know it, your card is being withheld by the ATM machine.. Bummer!
Nasir: Your Welcome
Laura, thanks for the link.. I already put the linked up there on my post.. Maybe you have missed it.. But thanks anyway

Also,
There have been concerns that with this scheme actually implemented, people might not be able to get their PIN right backwards in a pressure situation (with a gun to their head) increasing chances of violence being used again them.
I bet bank don’t want to get sued.

In some cases ur credit cards get struck in the machine.. people must not believe in these kind of news unless it is from the concerned authorities…
